Concerns and Complaints

 

We recognise that from time to time problems or concerns can arise. When this happens, it is always our intention to work with parents and children to resolve these with you. So if you do have a concern, please do feel comfortable to share it with us, so that we can address the problem together.

The Headteacher and the class teachers are usually available after school for a short while. If you feel that you need longer to discuss matters with the Headteacher or your child’s class teacher, please make an appointment through the school office. This will ensure that sufficient time is set aside to discuss matters fully.

 

Complaints Procedure

Section 23 of the Education Reform Act sets out the following statement regarding complaint procedure:

 

‘The Secretary of State expects that any concerns expressed by parents and others about the school curriculum and related matters will be dealt with in informal discussion with teachers and Headteacher in the first instance’.

Those cases, which cannot be resolved informally will therefore be considered formal complaints under the arrangement in Section 23 and if appropriate referred to the Governing Body.
