We have been learning to make observations. We have been looking closely at things around us, including flowers in our base.
Easter Egg Hunt
We enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt on the field. We had to look all over the field – behind, between, beside and under. Some of us found our eggs quickly and some of us needed help from our friends. We were very excited about eating our eggs!!!! Thank you to the Easter bunny and POPS for providing our eggs.
In our Power maths, we have been identifying different types of patterns. We have also been looking at the ‘repeat’ and thinking about what would come at the front and the end of a pattern. We decided to take our learning out on to the field.
We had the most amazing day at school. Santa sent us a video and explained that we were all on the nice list, even the teachers!!! He sent us a big box of Christmas activities to enjoy as a class. We made reindeer antlers, played a snowman bowling game, pinned the nose on Rudolph, played party hat hoopla and decorated gingerbread biscuits.
Thank you so much Santa and the Elves.
We had so much fun with the parachute! We practiced our listening skills to stop and start shaking the parachute. We also ran underneath it and made it into a tent.
First welly walk around the field
We went on our first nature walk around the field. We had to wear our wellies. We saw tomatoes and pears in the garden area and looked at the Bug Hotel. We found leaves and acorns on the floor. When we got back to the classroom, we learnt how to put our boots together and pack them away.
First weeks at schools
The Reception classes have had a great few weeks at school. They have been learning where things are in the classroom and have been trying lots of new activities. They have also made new friends and been learning how to listen carefully. The teachers are very proud of the way they have settled in.
Welcome to Reception!
In Reception we are very excited to be starting our learning journey at Parley First School. Our classes are called RW and RB. Our learning this term is ‘Good to be Me!’ and we will be learning about ourselves and people who help us. We will be reading, writing, counting, painting, playing, making lots of new friends and many other exciting things.
We look forward to sharing our photos on this page so that you can see what we have been doing.
