Pupil Premium awards additional funding for schools to spend on pupils from low-income families, looked after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces. A Premium Pupil is
- Any child who is entitled to free school meals, even if they do not actually have them
- Any child who has been entitled to free school meals in the last 6 years, who may no longer be currently eligible
- Any child who is subject to any form of care or adoption order
- Any child who has parents currently serving in the Armed Forces
The school receives extra funding to spend on the education of all of these children such as one to one tutoring sessions, support within group work sessions, pastoral support and accelerated sporting opportunities. Also depending on the category that you fall into, there are additional benefits such as assistance with school uniform, reduced fees for Breakfast Club and After School Clubs as well as financial support for School Trips and Enrichment activities.
